Course Description

This comprehensive course provides a practical guide to building, packaging, and distributing Python libraries for professional use. Designed for developers who want to create reusable, installable Python packages, the course covers the complete lifecycle from project structuring and testing to publishing on PyPI and managing private repositories. Participants will learn the tools, techniques, and best practices used by professional Python package maintainers.
The curriculum covers project structure, dependency management, packaging with setuptools and poetry, testing, documentation, versioning, and publishing to PyPI and private repositories. Using a hands-on approach, learners will build a complete Python package from scratch, implement CI/CD pipelines, and publish to package repositories. By the end of the course, participants will be able to create, maintain, and distribute Python packages for internal teams and the open-source community.
Prerequisite note: This course requires solid Python programming knowledge including functions, classes, and modules. Participants should have experience writing Python scripts or small applications and be comfortable with Git and the command line. No prior packaging experience is necessary.
